Happy Birthday Asa!

I can't believe that today is almost over! I laid you down tonight all too quickly. I wanted to savor every last moment of you being my little baby! Now you are fast asleep as a big one year old!

Looking back over this last year I can sum it up in one word: thankful. How thankful I am to have another little turkey baby to brighten our every day. How thankful I am that despite having a rough start, you are a strong and healthy boy now. How thankful I am that your big brother and sister completely adore you. How thankful I am that life with three babies is far better than I could have ever imagined. How thankful I am to have had one whole year with you. How thankful I am to lavish you with love and teach you about Jesus. I am so thankful that one year ago today, God blessed us with you!

This week, we made you a cake and all watched thinking you would dive into it (knowing how you love food). But to our surprise, you did not. You shook your head no and started to cry. It wasn't until Daddy put a piece in your mouth that you started to smile. You did not want to do that yourself! After each bite, you would shake your head yes, and grunt for another bite to be placed in your mouth! Finally, Daddy stuck your hands in the cake and you were not happy as you quickly tried to wipe the icing off your hands. Silly little Asa, we did not know you would not want to get too dirty! Next time we will hand you a fork!
