Summer 2013 Vacations



This post is a MAJOR picture overload and for the sole purpose so that we can remember these precious memories for years to come! I just wanted to quickly highlight our 2013 Summer vacations.

 First, we took a trip to the North Carolina mountains. We hiked to see Linville Falls, went to Tweetsie Railroad, ate at the Daniel Boone Inn, and drove for hours on the Blue Ridge Parkways sightseeing! It was a nice relaxing trip and Nana joined us as well! So thankful Tim and Dena allowed us to stay at their place! Here are my favorite pictures from our 'hike!'




















That same week, we hit the coast of North Carolina as well! Figure Eight Island is one of our top places to go to relax! It is a private island that Michael's dad works on. The beach is beautiful and there is usually only one or two other people in sight! So glad that both Jude and Eden love the beach!











 

 



 



















 









Next, we took our first trip back to Florida since the move! The kids were so excited to go back to Florida to see Gigi and PawPaw. 

My mom and I took the kids to Disney World one afternoon thanks to a friend that could get us in! Both of the kids love Mickey Mouse, so I envisioned this cute picture with both of them with him. But after waiting in line to see Mickey, Eden screamed like I have never heard her scream before when she saw him! She was terrified! However, the trip was not a complete failure with riding Dumbo three times, the carousel twice, getting giant lollipops, and each getting their own Minnie and Mickey to take home!




 






 The kids also loved getting to play with their cousin Matthew! Or Matt-Matt as they say! I was a bit shocked and happy to see how well they all three play together!



And last but not least, they got to go on a horse back ride in Florida! I dare say that this was the highlight of their trip!





We ended our vacation by spending time outside doing Jude's favorite thing: crafting!

Winter: cold, dark, long, dreary, depressing, dead. That pretty much sums up my feelings of winter being a Florida girl.  I hate winter. Everything is dead; the grass, the trees (at least the leaves on the trees), the flowers and this winter was no different. It started out just like stated above and then turned into a blizzard. Turning My Grief into Gratitude

To give you the quick recap on my life in the past five years: I moved to North Carolina for college, met and married Michael, and wanted to start a family. After this, things went quickly from really good, to really bad. I was able to get pregnant right away. I lost the baby . I was able to get pregnant again the very next month. Again I lost the baby . Even though a year has gone by, typing the words, I lost the baby, makes me want to vomit. Admitting that I now have two children that have died seems unreal. At the time, I felt like I had to regain composure quickly. I was teaching sixth grade and my life seemed like it was moving on a rollercoaster. But now that I am a stay at home mom, I feel like I think about them more often. What would they have looked like? Were they a boy or a girl? Would I have had twins? And I am left with no answers. Being Completely Satisfied

As I reflect on the past and even examine my life now, I often find that I become consumed with whatever is going on in my life at that time. I will focus all of my thoughts and attention to this matter until it is resolved. To give you a few examples, at one point in my life, all I wanted was to be out of my parents house, then it was that I just waned to graduate high school, next I wanted to graduate college, after that I could not wait to get engaged, that turned into I couldn't wait to get married, then if I could just have children everything would be fine. I thought all of these were life and death matters at that time. If I could only get that 'one' thing in my life, I would be happy and satisfied. But when I lie awake at night for hours, not able to sleep because I am thinking about what I want my future house to be like, something is wrong .
