Looking Forward...
I am beyond excited for the beautiful weather we have had this week. To say I am sick of cold weather would be quite an understatement! Growing up in central Florida, we maybe experienced two really cold days a year! Today has been a great foreshadowing of what is to come in the weeks ahead! The back door open, kids playing outside, lunches on the back porch…ahh I love it!
Little Asa was so happy to sit on the back porch with me as we watched Jude and Eden drive around in their power wheels and play on their swing set. I am trying so hard to savor and soak up all these sweet memories with my children! They are changing and growing up so fast! I have been keeping my camera out and on the kitchen counter so I am more likely to use it everyday.
As you can see Asa is balding! I am finding hair everywhere I lay him down, including on my clothes!! I feel like we have a little cat living in our house right now.
Just a tiny bit of hair left on the top.
Eden and Jude have reached an age where I can let them out the back door and finish some of my chores inside while they play outside by themselves. When did they get this big! There is nothing better than folding laundry with the windows open and listening to your kids play together and have fun in the back yard!
They are definitely getting good use out of their new swing set! They only time they came inside was to eat lunch, nap, then eat dinner and go to bed!
They literally played outside all day!
I have truly been blessed! All day I have tried to stay focused on thanking God for giving me these great gifts (awesome kids, a nice house and back yard, beautiful weather). I want to enjoy these things because God is good but not turn them into idols. I often get consumed with everything else in my life and spend little time even thinking about God. My goal is to be more intentional about focusing on God and trying to incorporate more worship throughout my day.
"Reasoning, thinking, and knowing God is the necessary means and delighting in, being satisfied with, enjoying, and treasuring God is the ultimate end to the human soul."
John Piper
