Eden at 15 months and Jude with Asthma

This is also day 59, if I am counting anymore!

We did have one day of nice warmer than usual weather, so the kids and I were able to play outside one afternoon. This week we have also  been to the doctor’s office twice. Once for Eden’s 15 month check up and once for Jude’s asthma check up.

First the details of Eden at 15 months:

- Eden started walking about a week before she turned 15 months.

- She is our little princess that always wants her way! Whatever Jude is playing with is what she wants. And she has a tendency to scream very loud when she doesn’t get what she wants.

- She can say a few words clearly: Mama, Dada, Dink (drink), Hey, Bye bye, Baby, and No. But she tries to say a lot more babbling all the time. However, she does let you know what she wants by pointing at it.

- She is the happiest when Jude is showing her attention.

- She loves to sleep and will cry and throw herself backwards while in your arms to let you know she is ready to lay down. She still takes two naps a day. We tried to cut out the first nap, but she wasn’t having it! And she will sleep all night long from from 7pm to 9am!

- She is always up to something and has a mischievous smirk on her face.

- She is a very picky eater! She will like something one day, and the next day hate it!

- She is very funny and loves to make you laugh!

- She is a climber! She can now climb in the little chairs and then proceed to get on top of the table! In the 3 seconds I looked away, when I glanced back at her again she was STANDING on top of the table!

- He favorite thing to play with is her pretend food. She loves to cook and then pretend eat! All our wooden food have teeth marks around all the edges! (some from Jude as well!)

- She is very serious with unfamiliar faces and will NOT crack a smile! But at home she is a very smiley child!

- She loves music and when she hears it she immediately throws her hands up and starts shaking her booty! (Just like her Mama)

Now to updates on Jude:

Jude was diagnosed with asthma about a year ago. His symptoms have included a persistent cough, pneumonia, and then in December he had an asthma attack in the middle of the night where he was gasping for air. We tried to use inhalers, but found more luck using the nebulizer when he started to get bad again.

Our Doctor’s office here, has an asthma specialist on staff that we were able to meet with an establish a plan for Jude to make sure we keep things under control. Since we have moved, he has been coughing himself to sleep and then again right when he wakes up in the morning. For those of you that have kids with asthma understand what I am talking about, but for those with out, he does not have a cold he just has a dry cough everyday. They say that it is your body's reaction to cough when you cannot breathe well.

So after going over everything, they thought it was best for Jude to use an inhaler daily along with Claritin and another inhaler or nebulizer when things get worse!

Jude did good using the inhaler in the office today, lets pray that he continues to do it from here on out! We have had very bad experiences trying to hold him down to take it in the past! I hope we haven’t scared him for life!

Daddy took off today to be sure he could go with us to hear first hand what the Dr said about Jude, so we had a very relaxing afternoon and a great night out for dinner!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Thursday, the weekend is almost upon us again!
