Happy New Year

I am so excited for 2013 and the changes that have already begun. Today officially marks a new journey in our life. My husband is now a pastor and I am at home (my home), by myself with the kids! Today we are starting our routine with scheduled nap times, cleaning times, and intentional teaching times with the kids. I must say, right now at least, it is fun to clean my house. I love having everything in order and clean! I hope that it continues to stay this way!

When I think about this year, I am so excited. I would love to think that everything will continue to go perfectly, but we are not guaranteed that at all. In a second our life could be touched by death or some other tragedy. That is why this year I do not want to take anything for granted. I want to cherish each moment I have with my husband, children, friends, and family. But I do not want to live in fear. I want to trust God knowing that he controls all things, and not a sparrow falls from the sky without him knowing.

Most of all this year, I want to savor Christ and what he has done for us. I want to rest and seek refuge in the Gospel, knowing that regardless of my circumstances everything will be ok because of one event that has already taken place. Christ has come, Christ had died, and Christ has come back to life. Because of this I have peace, hope, joy, satisfaction, and security. I can sleep at night knowing God is in control. I can say let his will be done, because I know he knows the future. I can love and forgive freely.

May you also find peace, rest, joy, satisfaction, and security in Christ this year. May we all love and forgive each other continually. And may we all enjoy the blessings in our lives. We have so much to be thankful for.

Happy New Year!
