Feeding a Giraffe

Last week Michael and I took the kids back to the Lowery Park Zoo in Tampa.
Of course, the first thing Jude wanted to do was ride the carousal.

He was thrilled to ride the horse this time! Since his obsession with the rodeo, he tries to ride everything he can: the couch, pillows, even my sewing machine box, and says they are either a bull or a horse.

Anyways, here are my cuties flying by again:

Jude’s look when I asked him if the carousal was fun:

“Uh’ huh!”

Next up was the big hit of the day! We fed a Giraffe!

What strange animals they are when you get up close!

A face only a mother could love:

Eden wasn’t going to give up her giraffe though!

We took a little safari ride around Africa
and got to see the ‘behind the scenes’ of some different exhibits.

Jude loved the elephants.

And we didn’t even bother to look at the monkeys because we brought our own!

Poor Eden got so hot and sweaty. The back of her head was pure soaked!

Jude however, didn’t mind the heat!

He knew he was going to get to play in the water park!

But he didn’t do much running around.
Instead he loved just sitting on this alligator!

We even let crazy hair splash around for a minute!

Total time at the zoo: about 2 1/2 hours! A huge storm came up, so we decided to head back home. It is a short drive for us, so this was a nice way to spend our morning and still let the kids get their afternoon nap! We hope to head back to the zoo again next week!
