Zoo Trip

On Monday, Michael and I loaded up the kids and decided to take a trip to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. We read that it was voted the #1 Zoo by Parents Magazine and it definitely meet our expectations!

Our first stop were the orangutans. And I have to admit, they were my favorite! I could just watch them play all day long!

Jude getting up-close and personal with the big mama!

Eden was very generous on giving out smiles
to anyone who would show her attention!

Another monkey..

Turkey..

Flamingo..

Jude excited to see the tiger:

The panther..

Alligator..

Jude's favorite was the aquarium with the manatee and turtles.
He screamed when the turtle swam by!

Beautiful bald eagles..

Jude watching the giraffes intently.
He had to make it a point to tell all the animals hi and bye!

The zebra..

Jude watching the rhinos..

I don't think I have ever seen one of them this close before. What strange animals!

This zoo also had the best children's area. There was a petting zoo, a place to ride ponies, a carousel, a train, and a place where you could walk through with little kangaroos running around.

I'm not sure if this was meant as a joke, but some people did leave their strollers here!

Jude made sure to pet every goat in the petting zoo!
Here is another hungry goat.

The little kangaroo.. (I think that is what it was)

Jude is still talking about riding the train!

He rode the carousel twice. First the giraffe, then he rode the zebra!

He was walking around with his hands behind his back.
Where does he learn these things?

Me and sweet Eddy!

She loves her giraffe too! Sophie was in her arms all day!

The zoo also had two different splash pads.
Before we left, I left Jude go to town in the water.
Can you find him in the second picture?

It is safe to say that these to kiddios loved the zoo! And we did too! Michael said he about cried getting to watch the cheetah, (his favorite animal), while I was letting Jude play in the water.

All of the animals were easy to see, the environment was very kid friendly, and because the weather was a little rainy, there was no crowd at all! This all made for a wonderful day at the zoo! We went ahead and bought a year pass and are looking forward to going back very soon! Maybe we will even be able to go back next weekend!

Plus it made for a good nights sleep!
This little fellow was so tired, he could hardly make it to the car!
