On Island Time
I figured I had a little time to share about our latest adventure while Jude is napping and I am devouring Ramen noodles! (my latest crave) This last week, we spent a few days at Rudy's Island. It is located in Ozello, near Crystal River and Homosassa Springs. This was Jude's first trip to the island, and I was a little nervous of how he would do. But despite my fears, I think it is safe to say we all had a wonderful time! And of course I have tons of pictures to prove it!
Here is the side of the island.
It is made up of oyster shells, (no sandy beaches here).
Chad and I have spent our fair share of time
exploring every inch of this place when we were younger!
Also, plenty of mangrove trees around.
Jude taking a swim with Daddy!
Relaxing with GiGi.
Uncle Chad being silly.
Jude in the hammock.
Opps, he fell over and got stuck!
But before long, he got the hang of it!
Crazy Hair!
The guys spent their time fishing!
Dad's big red fish!
Michael learned to fillet a fish.
Everyday we saw manatee and dolphins.
One day, we did take a trip to some springs. We had to swim up a little canal in order to get to the head spring. I was hesitant at first because the water is freezing, but Jude was a champ and went along with us for the adventure. He was worn out by the time we made it back to the house!
Rudy's grass had not been cut in a while, but it was so pretty to me. I kept trying to get Jude to stand out there for me to take his picture! Finally with the help of Daddy, I was successful at getting a few shots!
Jude has learned where his nose is, and will point to it on demand!
(however he calls it his gaggle, not sure where this came from)
We have had so much fun playing with him lately. He also starting recognizing birds at the island. Every time he hears or sees one, he will point up and say "durd!"
His favorite "toy" at the island was the vacuum cleaner cord. He would carry it all around the house! (We let him play with it, despite the fact the he isn't aloud to play with cords at home. But because mommy forgot to bring any real toys, I figured it would be ok!)
You can see how tired his eyes look!
Right after I took this picture, the mother of the year, watched Jude fall head first off the porch! I didn't realize he had one foot off and was about to take a step forward! (I was zoomed in on his face) Anyways, it terrified me! But he only cried for a minute! Poor baby!
The last night, Jude and I decided we would go out fishing.
The weather was nice, so we decided to take a chance.
Jude was amazed at watching Daddy fish.
Michael with his shrimp.
Jude trying to drive!
Holding on!
Looking over the edge!
Papa getting a fish off.
Michael with his trout!
Rain in the Gulf.
What a perfect sunset to end a great day!
We are so glad Rudy has continually let us stay at his house!
We always have such a great time when we are there!
