Jude's First Hair Cut

Jude is growing up so fast! He really is a funny little boy. Last week while I was at the grocery store, a women repeatedly called him a little girl. It was to the point where she said it so many times that it would have been awkward for me to correct her! So since he is one now, we took him to get his hair cut today! We really made it a more special occasion than it really is, but we did have fun. A friend suggested going to the barber shop in the Magic Kingdom. I called them yesterday, and the only available appointment they had in the next month was today. What luck! So Michael and I headed up to Disney after lunch.

Here are a few before pictures of that massive head of hair.

Right after we got to the Magic Kingdom, it started to rain.
So we grabbed an ice cream sunday and decided to wait it out.

Jude didn't seem to mind at all!

After the rain stopped, the crowds died, and we were able to ride "It's a Small World" and the Carousal before heading to the Barber Shop.

Jude held on for life!

This was the look on his face when the horse started moving up and down!
(notice his "wings" also)

He soon got used to it and loved the rest of the ride!

The hair cut itself went way better than I ever expected!
Jude sat very still while eating a cookie and playing with a toy.
Michael video taped it for my mom, so we do not have any pictures of the action!
He received a Mickey Hat and a certificate documenting his first hair cut, along with a little bit of his hair!

He looks so much like a little boy now!

In other news, here are a few of his latest updates:

-He loves to sing! He will hum different little tunes all day! He also like to go to the piano and play one key at a time, while humming along!

-He loves to dance. Anytime he can slightly hear music, he starts bouncing and swaying.

-He has never watched a TV show.

-He loves water. He doesn't mind if it gets in his eyes, he just loves to splash and dunk his head under!

-He is walking everywhere!

-He is starting to understand what we say to him. He will respond to no, eat, bottle, nap, bed, go, and come here.

-He does not love food as much as he used to. We are finding it difficult to get him to eat these days, because he doesn't seem interested. Instead, he wants to get down and play.

-He hates wearing shoes! Thank goodness for crocs! ..they are the only thing he will not pull right off.

-He is sleeping more than ever! He goes to bed between 8:00 - 8:30 and gets up at 9:00 in the morning. While still taking 2 (at least 2 hour) naps during the day.
-He has not had a bottle in two days!

-He recognizes birds, he will point to them and say "durd".

-He will point to his nose, hair, and tongue on demand.

-He does not like to have his diaper changed.

-His favorite toy is a pastry brush he found in a kitchen drawer. It is the first thing he gets everyday, and he goes around "painting" everything.

-He loves to make a mess, and can not stand anything to be in order! If all his toys are in a basket, he  instantly dumps them all out!

Jude is the highlight of our day. He is our constant reminder that God has blessed us.
