Jude is ONE!

Wow. In the midst of all the chaos, I decided it was time to update the blog. We were in North Carolina for about a week and a half for my brother's wedding and we celebrated not only Jude's birthday with family, but Michael's as well! (Now that we are "adults" everyone tends to focus on the "kids" birthdays) None the less, my sweet husband did turn 26 on July 30th! His mom took us out to a wonderful dinner with Michael's favorite ice cream cake for dessert.

On August 4th my precious little boy turned ONE! It is so hard to believe that a YEAR ago, I was in the hospital eagerly awaiting his arrival. I took time to relive his birth story! This past year has been amazing! I never imagined that a little child could bring so much joy into my life. I am so thankful that God has allowed me to have Jude an entire year!

We started his big day off bright and early. Michael and I got up before Jude in order to get ready for pictures! It was then I realized that I had no blow dryer and no hair spray. I ended up using a blow dryer that should had been thrown away, because it occasionally shoots flames. So my hair looked fabulous for our family pictures!

We woke Jude up at eight, got him ready and headed for a quick photo shoot with Anabelle. (I originally was going to get them made in the afternoon, but Jude is always much happier in the morning) The pictures turned out great!

I made his cake and outfit the day before!

Yum! Cake for Breakfast!

Once we arrived back out the house, we realized there was no air conditioning! So we quickly fed Jude lunch and headed outside to swim in Jude's new kiddie pool. He thoroughly enjoyed himself.

We ended the night celebrating once again with our life group! Over all, we had a wonderful day. We are however, having a birthday party for him next Saturday due to the fact that my parents and sister have been out of town! So we will give to relive the birthday madness once more this year!

I try my to take time everyday to thank God for Jude and remember that he is a precious gift to me, but he was not made for me! It is so easy to look at my son and think, wow, he is perfect. But I know that that is not true. While I love every thing about Jude, he is not perfect. I pray every day that he will realize that this world is not for and about him. Instead, I hope he learns that everything centers around Christ. I pray that Jude will fall in love with Jesus.

Jude- We love you and are so thankful for you to be a part of our life!
