My First Trip to Aldi

So just the other day, I had to go get a few groceries on a budget. My dad suggested that I try out Aldi because he is in love with it! So he tried to prepare me for my trip:
#1. You need to bring your own bags.
#2. You need a quarter to rent a buggy.
#3. You need to bring cash or a debit card.

He forgot to mention the later tip, but nonetheless, off I went. As I arrived, I got my quarter out, had my bags in one hand, while trying to get Jude out of the car seat. In the mean time, I dropped my car keys in my purse. I tried to dig and find them, but figured this was going to be a quick trip and there were hardly any cars in the parking lot, so I didn't lock my car (which I never do)!

I enter the store a little skeptical but was thrilled with the low prices! They do not sell name brands, but the price differences are phenomenal! I paid a little over $4.00 for a box of graham crackers the day before. At Aldi they were a $1.00. A huge bag of chips $1.19, which Publix had on sale this week BOGO, but one bag was still over $4.00! Now they are an off brand of Doritos, but they taste the same. (And I can tell because I am pregnant!!) So I shopped throughout the whole store in amazement.

As I went to check out, I was informed that they only take cash or debit. I did not bring either! The cashier was very nice about it (I guess it happens quite often), so she still totaled out my groceries and I was going to run and get some money.

When I walked out of the store towards my car, I noticed a man sitting in the drivers side of my car! I was in shock! He started getting out as I started getting closer and we met eye to eye. He said "I don't think this is my car". I was like, no I don't think it is either! He was parked right beside me, and was also driving a white car. However, it was not a Camry or even a Toyota! He explained that he pressed the unlock button and thought that my car had beeped. I smiled and we laughed. As he started to turn towards his car he said, "Wait a minute, I have to get all my groceries!" I then open the back door of the car to find it packed very neatly with groceries. (I guess no one told him about bringing your own bags) He worked very quickly to get all the items in his car. As I got Jude all fastened in his car seat, I am thinking to myself, did he not notice this huge car seat back here!?!

Anyways, he apologized and said that he would never do something like this again. I said to myself the same thing!! That was the first and last time I leave my car unlocked!! I ran home and got my debit card and come back to get my stuff with no problem.

Besides the car issue, I was rather pleased with the results of my first trip to Aldi! I would definitely recommend it to everyone! As long as you don't forget your quarter, bags, and cash! (and lock your car)
